“When I was given the honor by JQ International of receiving the Inspiration Award, I felt extremely grateful. At the same time, I also felt a sense of responsibility,” said Chaouli, “I believe being a leader carries with it a huge responsibility, and often times the things we share as leaders are not the things people want to hear.”
For the past 30 years, Chaouli has worked as an Image Therapist Mentor, where she not only teaches people how and why they should take pride in the clothing they wear, but she also helps build their confidence, restore their sense of self-worth and authentically reignite their passion for life.
“I created this domain because I started to see early on in my life, that our clothes are our second skin to the world,” Chaouli said, “Most people dress as if they have to hide, they do not go into their closets and think ‘this is the platter upon which I am presented, I am a masterpiece.’ I want people to realize they are one-of-a-kind, and dressing their Masterpiece is a learnable skill .”
In addition to inspiring others through her business, Chaouli has given much of her time and efforts to non-profit organizations, including JQ International. When her close family member came out and began to work with JQ, she was drawn to the powerful community support the organization provides.
“The most important thing in our society is that we need a family to support us no matter what, and JQ is that family for the LGBTQ community,” Chaouli said, “Inside of that family, we need to have each other’s back, and JQ does that too. I am proud of this organization as it’s the first of its kind, with such a focus on the Persian community, that has had the courage, coupled with nobility to pull itself up by the bootstraps. Congratulations JQ International for all you are doing- you’ve created a powerful space, where before there was nothing. I’m so proud to be part of your mission.”
